Maine OFCCP Job Posting Requirements
Maine OFCCP job posting requirements come from VEVRAA, the federal law that directs covered contractors to list most job openings with the employment service delivery system serving the job location. In Maine, that system is Maine JobLink, the online job bank linked to the CareerCenters supported by the Maine Department of Labor. Employers post openings in Maine JobLink, and CareerCenter staff refer job seekers to them, giving priority to protected veterans. The rule covers openings in Bangor, Lewiston, Augusta, Bath, Kittery, Presque Isle and every other Maine location where you hire, with a few excluded roles.
Maine contractors often hire in small numbers at many sites, plus seasonal and project roles, so listings are easy to forget, especially when one person handles recruiting for several locations. Remote coastal and northern sites can make it harder still to track what was sent and when. Shipbuilding and defense work along the coast can also add hiring waves that strain a small HR team. Kittery sits on the New Hampshire line, which means a job on the Maine side belongs in Maine JobLink while a job across the river in Portsmouth belongs in New Hampshire. dstribute takes care of these details. It connects to the ATS your team already uses, reads the location on each suitable opening, and sends Maine jobs to the Maine ESDS automatically. It saves a dated record of the job title, location, receiving system and send date for your audit file. To see how it would work for your Maine sites, fill in the form beside this text.

Maine Job Listings Without the Busywork
Maine OFCCP job posting requirements are federal, but each listing is made in the Maine state system. This page covers the rule, Maine JobLink, and how to handle seasonal and border hiring.
The Rule at a Glance
The VEVRAA regulations at 41 CFR Part 60-300 tell covered contractors to list suitable openings with the state employment service for the job location so protected veterans receive priority referral. OFCCP may ask for evidence of these listings during a compliance review.
Maine JobLink and the CareerCenters
Maine JobLink is the state job bank, and the CareerCenters help employers with recruiting and referrals. Our page on the Maine CareerCenter explains the system in more detail.
Covered Openings
Covered openings include full-time, part-time and temporary roles lasting more than three days. Executive and top management roles, positions filled from within your own workforce, and jobs of three days or less are excluded. Ask counsel when a role or contract is unclear.
What the State Should Know
Tell Maine JobLink that you are a federal contractor, name the hiring official for each Maine location, and ask for priority referral of protected veterans.
Seasonal and Project Hiring
Seasonal roles that last more than three days still need a listing. Our post on state coverage shows how teams keep every opening listed without extra manual work.
The New Hampshire Line
Jobs in Kittery, Eliot and York go to Maine. Jobs in Portsmouth, Dover or Nashua go to New Hampshire, as our New Hampshire ESDS page explains. Teams with sites further south can compare the Connecticut requirements.
Keeping a Usable Record
A listing helps only if you can prove it later. Our post on audit ready logs explains which details to capture for each send.
How dstribute Handles Maine Jobs
dstribute connects to your ATS, reads each new opening, and sends suitable Maine jobs to the state system automatically, while New Hampshire jobs go to that state. Each send is stored with the job title, location, receiving system and date.

OFCCP Compliance: What Changes After the 2026 Midterms?
The 2026 U.S. midterm elections could mark a turning point for federal contractor compliance. Priority Referral for Protected Veterans: How State Job Listings Work
Every covered federal contractor that lists a job with a state workforce system is doing more than filling a box on a compliance form.
