Alabama OFCCP Job Posting Requirements
Alabama OFCCP job posting requirements start with one federal rule. Under VEVRAA, a covered federal contractor must list most employment openings with the employment service delivery system that serves the job location, and for jobs in Alabama that is the public workforce system run by the Alabama Department of Workforce. Employers reach it through AlabamaWorks, the state's official workforce platform, and through the Alabama Career Center network, which connects employers with job seekers, including protected veterans who receive priority referral. The listing duty applies to openings in Mobile, Huntsville, Montgomery, Birmingham and every smaller town where you hire, unless a role falls into a narrow exception. The rule is simple on paper and hard in daily practice. Recruiters already publish jobs in an ATS, and the state listing is a second task with its own login, form fields and account details. When hiring volume rises, or when a new recruiter takes over, Alabama listings fall behind, and the proof sits in screenshots that do not show the date or the job. A compliance review then turns into a search for records that may not exist. dstribute removes that second task. It connects to the ATS your team already uses, picks up each suitable Alabama opening as it is published, and sends it to the Alabama ESDS without manual steps. dstribute keeps a dated record of the job title, location, receiving system and send date, so your audit file is ready when OFCCP asks. Your recruiters keep working the way they do today. To see how this would work for your Alabama locations, fill in the form beside this text.

What Federal Contractors Must Do for Alabama Job Listings
Alabama OFCCP job posting requirements come from federal law, not state law. This page explains what the listing duty means for openings in Alabama and how to keep proof that holds up.
The Federal Rule Behind the Requirement
VEVRAA and its rules at 41 CFR Part 60-300 require covered contractors to list suitable employment openings with the state system where the job is located. The listing lets the state give protected veterans priority referral. OFCCP enforces the rule, and the same mandatory job listing duty applies in every state.
Who Runs the Alabama System
In Alabama, the Alabama Department of Workforce runs the public employment service. Employers can post openings and search for candidates through AlabamaWorks, and the department’s career centers and satellite offices serve employers and job seekers across the state. Our page on the Alabama Career Center covers that network in more detail.
Which Openings Must Be Listed
The duty covers employment openings except executive and top management roles, positions filled from within your own workforce, and positions lasting three days or less. Full-time roles, part-time roles and temporary roles lasting more than three days are in scope. Confirm coverage with counsel if a contract or role is unclear.
Telling the State You Are a Contractor
Contractors must also give the state system key details: that they are a federal contractor, the contact official at each hiring location in the state, and a request for priority referral of protected veterans. Keep these details current when a location opens or a contact changes.
Hiring Across State Lines
If you also hire in neighboring states, each listing must go to the state where the job is located. A role in Columbus goes to Georgia, not Alabama. See the Georgia requirements for that side of the border.
Common Gaps in Alabama Listings
Gaps tend to look the same: jobs never sent, jobs sent with the wrong location, and listings with no dated proof. Contractors with several Alabama sites see these gaps when each site handles listings on its own. Our page for Alabama contractors has more on OFCCP job posting in the state.
Keeping Records That Hold Up
For each opening, dstribute records the job title, location, receiving system and send date. These audit-ready logs make it simple to show a reviewer what was listed and when.
How dstribute Lists Alabama Jobs

Priority Referral for Protected Veterans: How State Job Listings Work
Every covered federal contractor that lists a job with a state workforce system is doing more than filling a box on a compliance form. It is asking the state to send protected veterans to the front of the referral line for that job. That request is called priority referral, and it sits at the center […]
ESDS Job Posting Requirements Explained for Federal Contractors
If you hold a federal contract, you have probably heard the term ESDS and nodded along without being sure what it asks of your team. ESDS stands for employment service delivery system, and in plain terms it is the public job listing network run by each state workforce agency. When the rules say a contractor […]
