Kansas OFCCP Job Posting Requirements
Kansas OFCCP job posting requirements are set by VEVRAA, the federal law that tells covered contractors to list most job openings with the employment service delivery system that serves the job location. In Kansas, that system is KANSASWORKS, the public workforce network led by the Kansas Department of Commerce. Employers post openings on the KANSASWORKS website, and staff at workforce centers across the state help with recruiting and refer job seekers, giving protected veterans priority. The rule covers openings in Wichita, Overland Park, Kansas City, Topeka, Lawrence, Salina and every other Kansas location where you hire, apart from a few excluded roles.
The Kansas City metro is the hard part. It spans two states, so a job in Olathe or Lenexa goes to Kansas while a job a few miles east in Kansas City, Missouri goes to the Missouri system. Teams that hire across the metro, or that run aerospace and manufacturing sites around Wichita alongside offices in other states, can easily list a job in the wrong place. Doing it by hand also leaves gaps when hiring spikes, and an undated screenshot does little to prove a listing happened. dstribute takes care of the routing. It connects to the ATS your team already uses, reads the location on each suitable opening, and sends Kansas jobs to the Kansas ESDS automatically. It keeps a dated record of the job title, location, receiving system and send date for your audit file. To see how it would work across your Kansas sites, fill in the form beside this text.

Listing Kansas Jobs Without the Guesswork
Kansas OFCCP job posting requirements are federal, but each listing lands in the Kansas state system. This page covers the rule, KANSASWORKS, and how employers in the Kansas City metro keep jobs in the right state.
The Rule in Plain Terms
The VEVRAA regulations at 41 CFR Part 60-300 tell covered contractors to list suitable openings with the state employment service for the job location so protected veterans receive priority referral. OFCCP may look for these listings during a compliance review.
KANSASWORKS and the Department of Commerce
KANSASWORKS is the state workforce system led by the Kansas Department of Commerce. Employers register on the KANSASWORKS site to post jobs and search for candidates, and workforce centers across the state offer recruiting help and hiring events. Our Kansas contractor guide adds more background.
Jobs the Rule Covers
Covered openings include full-time, part-time and temporary roles that last more than three days. Executive and top management roles, positions filled from within your own workforce, and jobs of three days or less are excluded. Ask counsel when a role or contract is unclear.
What the State Should Know
Tell KANSASWORKS that you are a federal contractor, name the hiring official at each Kansas location, and ask for priority referral of protected veterans. Our post on priority referral explains what that request means.
One Metro, Two States
Overland Park, Olathe and Lenexa jobs go to Kansas. Jobs in Kansas City, Missouri, Independence or Lee’s Summit go to Missouri. Our page on the Missouri Job Center covers the Missouri side.
Wichita and Western Kansas
Aerospace and manufacturing around Wichita and agriculture in western Kansas bring steady hiring across many sites. Teams that also hire in the Denver area handle Colorado on its own terms, as our Colorado requirements page explains.
Avoiding Common Gaps
Typical gaps are openings never sent, metro jobs listed in the wrong state, and listings with no date. Our post on proof of delivery explains why a dated record is stronger than a screenshot.
How dstribute Handles Kansas Jobs
dstribute connects to your ATS, reads each new opening, and sends suitable Kansas jobs to the state system automatically, while Missouri jobs go to the Missouri system. Each send is stored with the job title, location, receiving system and date.

OFCCP Compliance: What Changes After the 2026 Midterms?
The 2026 U.S. midterm elections could mark a turning point for federal contractor compliance. With Democrats gaining control of Congress, questions are emerging about the future of the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP), affirmative action requirements, and the potential reversal of President Donald Trump’s executive orders. Priority Referral for Protected Veterans: How State Job Listings Work
