ESDS Job Posting in Missouri
ESDS job posting in Missouri means listing your openings with MoJobs at jobs.mo.gov, the state job system of the Missouri Office of Workforce Development within the Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development, with support from local Missouri Job Centers. VEVRAA requires covered federal contractors to list suitable Missouri openings there so protected veterans get priority referral. dstribute sends your Missouri openings from your ATS to the Missouri ESDS and keeps a dated record of each listing. The rule is simple to state and easy to miss in practice. Every suitable Missouri opening has to reach the state system, and it should be listed promptly rather than weeks after the job goes live elsewhere. When recruiters hire across several states, jobs often go to commercial boards first and the state listing gets left for later.
Entering each requisition by hand takes time, and a missed listing is hard to prove or repair after the fact. Executive and senior management roles, internal promotions, and very short jobs fall outside the duty, so teams must also sort which openings count. dstribute removes the manual step. It works with the ATS your team already uses, so recruiters keep their current workflow and nothing new has to be learned. As suitable Missouri jobs are created, dstribute distributes them to the Missouri employment service automatically, includes the information the state requires, and stores a dated record of every listing. That record gives you a clear audit trail for OFCCP, showing which openings were listed and when. To see how it would work for your team, fill in the form beside this text and we will walk you through it.

Missouri ESDS Listings: Choosing a Path and Covering Border Metros
ESDS stands for employment service delivery system. Under VEVRAA, it is the public employment service that federal contractors list their openings with so protected veterans can receive priority referral. The listing goes to the system that serves the location of the job. In Missouri, that is MoJobs, backed by local Missouri Job Centers. This page covers the two ways to get a Missouri listing into the system and how to handle the metros that cross state lines. For the full set of state obligations, see our guide to OFCCP job posting for federal contractors in Missouri. New to the term? Start with What Is ESDS?
Who Runs the Missouri ESDS
The Missouri Office of Workforce Development, part of the Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development, operates MoJobs at jobs.mo.gov. Employers post openings there at no cost. Local Missouri Job Centers, part of the American Job Center network, help employers recruit and host hiring events.
Register Your Business in MoJobs
Missouri Job Center guidance states that a business must be registered in MoJobs before it posts vacant positions. Job Center staff can help you create the employer account. Finish registration before your first Missouri requisition opens so the listing is not delayed.
Online Posting or a Local Job Order
You can post openings directly in MoJobs. Some local Job Centers also accept a job order form from employers and offer to pre-screen candidates before referral, as the SLATE Missouri Job Center in St. Louis does. Whichever path you use, the listing should reach the Missouri system on the same schedule as your other recruiting sources.
Kansas City and St. Louis: List by Job Location
Both of Missouri’s largest metros cross state lines. The listing belongs with the ESDS that serves the location of the job, so a Kansas City, Missouri opening goes to MoJobs, while an opening across the line in Kansas goes to the Kansas system. The same check applies to openings on the Illinois side of the St. Louis metro. Set the work location in your ATS for each requisition so each listing goes to the right state.
Which Missouri Openings Must Be Listed
The listing requirement covers all employment openings except executive and senior management roles, positions filled from within the contractor’s own workforce, and positions lasting three days or less. VEVRAA also expects you to tell the ESDS that you are a federal contractor, name the hiring official for each establishment, and ask for priority referral of protected veterans. Our page on when ESDS is required walks through each part of the rule.
Documenting Missouri ESDS Listings
During a compliance evaluation, OFCCP can compare the openings at a Missouri establishment with the listings that reached the state system. dstribute logs each listing with the position, the Missouri location, and the date it was sent, so you can show what was listed and when. Our audit support recordkeeping and ESDS compliance checklist show how to review that file before an evaluation.
