Alaska OFCCP Job Posting Requirements

Alaska OFCCP job posting requirements come from VEVRAA, a federal law, and they apply to every covered contractor that hires in the state. The rule asks you to list most employment openings with the employment service delivery system that serves the job location. For Alaska jobs, that system is run by the Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development. Employers list openings on AlaskaJobs, the state's online job and workforce system, and work with the Alaska Job Center Network, whose staff refer job seekers and give protected veterans priority referral. The duty covers openings in Anchorage, Fairbanks, Juneau, the Mat-Su Valley and remote sites alike, apart from a few narrow exceptions.

Keeping up is the hard part. Alaska hiring often runs in seasons, with fishing, tourism and construction roles opening in waves, and each opening needs a second entry in the state system on top of the ATS post. When the rush comes, listings slip, job locations get entered wrong, and the only proof is a screenshot with no date. A compliance review then becomes a hunt for records. dstribute takes that second entry off your team. It connects to the ATS you already use, picks up each suitable Alaska opening when it goes live, and sends it to the Alaska ESDS automatically. Every send is logged with the job title, location, receiving system and date, so your audit file stays complete without extra work. Recruiters keep their current process. To see how it would run for your Alaska locations, fill in the form beside this text.

How the Federal Listing Rule Works for Alaska Jobs

Alaska OFCCP job posting requirements are federal, so they follow the same rule as every other state. What changes is the system you list with and the way Alaska hiring works. This page covers both.

The Federal Rule in Plain Terms

VEVRAA and its rules at 41 CFR Part 60-300 require covered contractors to list suitable employment openings with the state system where the job sits. The listing lets the state refer protected veterans first. OFCCP enforces the rule, and our guide to mandatory job listing explains the duty in more depth.

The Alaska System You List With

The Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development runs AlaskaJobs, which replaced the older ALEXsys system. Employers create an account, post openings and search for candidates there. Job centers around the state support employers in person, and our page on the Job Center Network covers that side.

Openings in Scope

The duty covers employment openings except executive and top management roles, positions filled from inside your own workforce, and positions lasting three days or less. Seasonal roles that last longer than three days are in scope, which matters for summer hiring at Alaska sites. Confirm coverage with counsel if a contract or role is unclear.

Details the State Needs From You

Contractors must tell the state system that they are a federal contractor, name the hiring official at each Alaska location, and ask for priority referral of protected veterans. Update these details when a camp, lodge or field office opens or a contact changes.

Remote Sites and Multi-State Hiring

Each listing goes to the state where the job is located. A rotation role on the North Slope is an Alaska job, even if the recruiter sits in Seattle. Jobs based in Washington belong with that state's system, as our page on Washington rules explains.

Where Alaska Listings Go Wrong

The common gaps are jobs that were never sent, jobs sent with the wrong location, and listings with no dated proof. These show up most when hiring is spread across several sites. Our page for Alaska contractors covers OFCCP job posting in the state from another angle.

Records That Hold Up in a Review

For each opening, dstribute stores the job title, location, receiving system and send date. Those audit-ready logs show a reviewer what you listed and when. For a wider view of keeping every state covered, read our post on state job bank coverage.

How dstribute Handles Alaska Jobs

dstribute connects to your ATS, reads each new opening, and sends suitable Alaska jobs to the state system automatically. Recruiters skip the second login, and compliance staff work from one record set.

I am happy to experience that dstribute.io is more than expected. We received more candidates traffic from job postings in six weeks then we have with other boards in six months. .

We already have several hires less than month from going live. This has more than paid for itself and the team were so helpful in sorting out all the synchronization between our ATS/DB and how we do things internally. I highly recommend dstribute.io!

The 2026 U.S. midterm elections could mark a turning point for federal contractor compliance. Priority Referral for Protected Veterans: How State Job Listings Work

Every covered federal contractor that lists a job with a state workforce system is doing more than filling a box on a compliance form. It is asking the state to send protected veterans to the front of the referral line for that job. That request is called priority referral, and it sits at the center […]
