ESDS Job Posting in New Jersey
ESDS job posting in New Jersey now runs through New Jersey Employer Access, the job posting site the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development offers through the National Labor Exchange. VEVRAA requires covered federal contractors to list suitable New Jersey openings with the state system so protected veterans get priority referral. dstribute sends your New Jersey openings from your ATS and keeps a dated record of each listing. What makes New Jersey listing hard is volume and timing. Recruiters open and change requisitions all week, and each suitable opening needs its own state listing. If the work is manual, someone has to log in to the state portal, copy the job details, and remember to repeat the step whenever the job changes.
Busy teams skip steps, and a gap in the file is difficult to explain during an OFCCP review. Executive and senior management roles, internal promotions, and very short jobs are outside the duty, so the team also has to decide which openings need a listing. dstribute is built for exactly this. It connects to your existing ATS and automates the New Jersey listing, so suitable openings reach the state without extra logins or copy and paste. Each listing is saved with the date it was sent, which gives your team a ready audit file instead of a scramble when a review letter arrives. Recruiters stay focused on candidates while compliance runs in the background. If you would like to see it in action, complete the form beside this text and our team will be in touch.

New Jersey ESDS Listings After the Employer Access Switch
ESDS stands for employment service delivery system. Under VEVRAA, it is the public employment service that federal contractors list their openings with so protected veterans can receive priority referral. The listing goes to the system that serves the location of the job. In New Jersey, new listings now go through New Jersey Employer Access, offered by the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development through the National Labor Exchange. This page covers the 2026 switch from the old NJ Job Bank and what it means for your New Jersey listings. For the full set of state obligations, see our guide to OFCCP job posting for federal contractors in New Jersey. New to the term? Start with What Is ESDS?
What Changed on May 1, 2026
The state’s notice says the NJ Job Bank Self-Service system is no longer available effective May 1, 2026. From that date, employers can only edit or remove jobs they already posted there. Those active postings stay open in the internal state workforce system until their scheduled expiration dates. New postings go through New Jersey Employer Access.
Setting Up a New Jersey Employer Access Account
The state FAQ says employers with an NLx account from another state can usually log in with those credentials, while a separate New Jersey login needs a unique email address. The goal for account approval is a maximum of two business days, so set up the account before your first New Jersey requisition opens. Posting is free for employers registered in New Jersey who pay W-2 wages. Staffing and home health agencies must register with the Division of Consumer Affairs and have a non-financial agreement on file with the Department of Labor.
What Happens After You Post
According to the FAQ, new job orders go to state staff within one business day so they can help match job seekers. Veterans with accounts get first access to newly posted jobs. When a position is filled or withdrawn, you can expire the job order from the Manage Your Jobs section of the Employer Desktop. For account or posting problems, the department lists EmployerSupport@dol.nj.gov.
Review Listings Left in the Old System
If your team posted New Jersey openings in the NJ Job Bank before May 2026, check which of those are still open and which have been filled. Close filled roles there, and send new openings through Employer Access. Keep both sets of records, since a 2026 compliance review may cover listings from each system.
Which New Jersey Openings Must Be Listed
The listing requirement covers all employment openings except executive and senior management roles, positions filled from within the contractor’s own workforce, and positions lasting three days or less. The listing should reach the New Jersey system no later than the job reaches any other recruiting source, and it should identify you as a federal contractor and ask for priority referral of protected veterans. Our page on when ESDS is required walks through each part of the rule.
Documenting New Jersey ESDS Listings
During a compliance evaluation, OFCCP can compare the openings at a New Jersey establishment with the listings that reached the state system. dstribute logs each listing with the position, the New Jersey location, and the date it was sent, so you can show what was listed and when. Our audit support recordkeeping and ESDS compliance checklist show how to review that file before an evaluation.

Priority Referral for Protected Veterans: How State Job Listings Work
